“Wait — where did my money go?”

You'll never
ask again.

Two seconds to log by hand — zero once your bank is connected. Everything you spent, already sorted, before you think to ask.

What you actually get

Three things you stop doing.

Logging

You stop typing in receipts.

Connect your bank once through Plaid. Every purchase after that shows up on its own — named, dated, and dropped into the right category. Adding one by hand takes about two seconds: a calculator keypad, favorites for your regulars, repeats that fill themselves in.

You stop doing the math in your head.

Set a number once and Deft keeps score, with subscriptions and fixed bills counted first. One glance tells you what is actually yours to spend — not just what the balance says.

Privacy

Your money's business is nobody's business.

  • Read-only — it can never move your money
  • Only the accounts you choose
  • Credentials go to Plaid, never to us
  • Your ledger stays on your iPhone
  • Disconnect anytime

We never see your bank login

You sign in inside Plaid's own secure screen, so credentials go to Plaid directly. We never see, receive, or store your bank username, password, security answers, or one-time codes.

Your ledger lives on your phone

Transactions, budgets, and notes are stored on your iPhone. No account needed to use the app by hand.

No ads, no trackers, no selling

No advertising SDKs, no analytics trackers. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and your financial data never trains a marketing profile or a model.

Why does Deft connect to my bank?

So the ledger stays current without you retyping a statement. If you turn sync on, Deft requests read-only access to the accounts you choose, and uses it for exactly four things: importing your transaction history, keeping it up to date, reading account balances for net worth, and categorizing activity automatically.

It can only read — it can never move, send, or spend money. Only the accounts you choose are in scope, and you can disconnect an institution from inside the app at any time, which removes the connection and stops the sync. Bank sync is optional; Deft is a complete manual ledger without it.

Connections are made through Plaid Inc., the data provider behind a large share of US finance apps. Traffic is encrypted in transit and access tokens are encrypted at rest. Full detail lives in the Privacy Policy.

The maker

Hi — I'm the whole company.

Deft is built by one person at Ocean Creative, a one-desk software studio. It exists because I got tired of typing every receipt into a spreadsheet I'd abandon by the 12th of the month.

That's also why it's fast, why there are no ads, and why nobody here has any reason to sell your data — there is no “here” to sell it to. Write to me and it's me who answers.

Want it the day it lands?

No signup form — the button opens an email to hello@oceancreative.app. Send it and you get one note back, from a person, when Deft hits the App Store.
